Self-Rescue Guide

Self-Rescue Guide: How to recover when your ClawBro instance is unresponsive

OpenClaw is a capable agent with deep system-level access, so it may occasionally run into complex operations that cause a temporary hang or loop. If your instance stops responding, don't panic — follow this guide to restore service in minutes.

1

The Soft Restart

Go to your Dashboard sidebar, find the Server section, and click Restart. This solves most minor hanging issues.

The Configuration Reset

If a restart doesn't work, use the Reset button in the same Server section.

Note: Do not worry — your agent's stored memory and conversation history are safe and will not be deleted during a reset.

Delete & Recreate

If the problem persists, delete your current instance and create a new one from the dashboard.

Warning: This will delete all data including conversation history and memory. Use this as a last resort.
